It’s all greens . . .

I’ve finished dyeing the green scarves now. I did six dark and three light ones. One of the dark ones isn’t saleable, as I accidently nicked two wee nicks while undoing the ties while rinsing them out. But I have an idea for that . . .  🙂

In the meantime, here’s some sneak previews of the Esmeralda series . . .

I love the heart shapes that showed up in the middle picture. More soon!

These won’t be going in the Etsy store for a few days, likely, but I have uploaded a couple more of the Amethyst scarves.

On a different note, Runrig is on tour just now and I’ve been listening to some of my favourites of theirs, including this one (Neill’s Barn)  An Sabhal Aig Neill  Dancy music always helps when creating, doesn’t it?

If Celtic isn’t your thing, no worries; I listen to quite a variety of music and love to share some of it; Runrig, however, is my favourite.  🙂  Have a fantastic week, everyone!

The store opened quietly . . .

Sorry I haven’t posted for a bit; it’s been a bit crazy here, between family (no problems, just the usual stuff), getting things ready to sell, taking photos and uploading items.

The photos have been a challenge, as my digital camera won’t turn on for some reason (yes, I put in new batteries! 🙂 ), so I’ve been using my iPhone, which took pictures I thought were fine . . . until . . . I wanted good photos to use in the store.

Oh, well, at least there are things to sell now.

I uploaded two of my friend Debbie’s hand-made dolls last Tuesday (11 March 2014), so that was the official opening date.

A few days later, after many trials and tribulations with taking photos of the tie-dyed silk scarves, I starched them, then ironed them again. That worked much better! Now the problem was the lighting. Natural light just didn’t do it (that’s why the colours are not true in the photos. Indoors against a white fabric wasn’t much better. The photos against a cream piece of flannel came out best, but I feel they all still need work. So I need to figure out what’s wrong with that camera . . .

Moana – RESERVED!

This scarf is reserved for Pauline, The Contented Crafter, who has been a great support and inspiration to me as I finally got off the couch, put down my book and took some action . . . Pauline has an Etsy store, too, and is enjoying it quite a bit, I hear.

You can view a couple of the scarves I’ve uploaded to the store in my gallery at the right. There are more than that, but I’m running out of time tonight. The turquoise scarves are a lovely turquoise colour, even though some of the pictures look quite blue and others more greenish. I hope to have that fixed soon.

The amethyst scarf is lovely, with delicate patterns in pale amethyst and a sort of smoky blue-grey in shadow patterns. See the close-up. I’m very proud of this one!

Well, I need to get to bed so tomorrow I can tie the next set of scarves; these will be green! I have two sets of green dye ready; it’s gong to be interesting to see what emerges . . . with dyes, it’s always a bit of an adventure . . . See you here again soon!

The store is nearly open . . .

Well, officially it IS open, since I added a credit card today. But I hadn’t intended to be open until I had items uploaded for sale. So my apologies for the store being empty. Oh, well . . . that won’t be for long now . . .

A close-up of one of the plum scarves. Aren’t those smoky shadows intriguing?

I’ve been busy dyeing silks and today ironed a dozen scarves. The photos remain to be done. Crazy making, since my camera won’t start up for some reason and I’m not sure about the iPhone photo quality.

A lovely plum tie-dyed shawl is ready to go, too. Here’s a quick peek:
